Do I need extracurricular activities for overseas universities?
Yes, especially for US universities. They value holistic applications, meaning they look at your leadership, passions, and community impact alongside your academic grades. Meaningful, long-term commitment to a few activities is better than superficial involvement in many.
How early should I start preparing my application?
For US and UK universities, it is highly recommended to start building your profile (extracurriculars and academics) in Year 11 or 12. Actual application writing usually begins the summer before your final year of high school (Year 13).
Does Kiwi Scholars cost anything?
No! All our resources, guides, and the ability to list your student initiative are completely free. We aim to make top-tier educational advice accessible to everyone in New Zealand.
